As the E³ Winter Games Corporation prepares for the 2018 Winter Exhibition they recognize a need for a safety operation plan and rescue equipment. The exhibition will involve many exciting and daring events, so E³ invites your group to participate on the rescue team. You and your team will design and construct a safety apparatus to rescue participants in the event of an accident. Since E³ exceeded budget in all of the other preparations, funding and a fast approaching deadline pose problems for your team.  To successfully complete the challenge, prepare for limited materials, and design time.

In order for your group to complete this task, you will need to understand the six different simple machines.  Think about how each of the different machines can be used in various situations.  Be sure that you can identify and explain the different machines as well as support your team's machine of choice.

The  E³ Winter Games Corporation looks forward to your team making our Winter Exhibition one to remember.

What teachers are saying...
"On the spot competitions are exciting and really challenge students to problem solve and think creatively."

"My students actually worked together and for the first time recognized  not only the importance of teamwork, but also the characteristics needed to be a team player."

"On the way to U of M yesterday, Amanda overheard two young gentlemen discussing where they would go to college. One young man was probably not one to have had that discussion before yesterday."
